Graduate profile: Revai Baloyi
Revai Baloyi joined the WSP Graduate Programme as an engineer in October 2006, and she’s not looked back since. "It was the opportunity to work on projects the size and variety of WSP’s that first attracted me," said Revai. "As an engineer, it’s hard not to get excited when you see the opportunity to get involved in literally helping to shape the future. "Specialising as a water engineer, I’ve taken on a wide range of responsibilities across numerous projects. From flood risk assessment in Croydon to river modelling in Brentford, I’ve received all the support I’ve needed to make the most of my skills.
"The WSP Graduate Programme has more than lived up to my expectations. I love my job; it’s exciting, challenging and rewarding. No two days are ever the same, so there’s no such thing as 'my typical day' – but whether I’m liaising with environment agencies, planners and managers, spending time on site or working with colleagues to achieve objectives, there’s constant support on offer. And as well as training on software, industry procedures and my ICE chartership, I’m being trusted with more senior responsibility; helping to lead people and projects alike. I can only see myself taking on more challenges like this as time progresses.
"I’d recommend WSP to anyone. Not only can I see myself here in five year’s time, but I can see my next few jobs within the company, potentially going on to lead my own projects. The truth is that if you’ve the ambition, you’ll find the chance to fulfil it here."
