WSP Finland was appointed design the Nguyen Van Troi-Tran Thi Ly Bridge after winning a design competition held by Da Nang's Transport and Public Works Project Management Unit.
The structure will replace two smaller bridges, providing a six-lane concrete bridge with a main span of 230m, and a total deck width of 34.5m.
WSP's designs for the bridge include a central inclined tower attached to the bridge by spiral cables, which will be illuminated.
The final confirmation of the finished design will be given in May, with construction work scheduled to begin nearer the end of 2008.
The project will be completed in 2011.
