WSP sets sights on world geotechnics

WSP GROUP has set up a new geotechnics division aimed at rivalling some of the biggest names in the field.

'WSP Geotechnics aims to be a key part of our global structure and to become the 'consultant of choice', rivalling others such as Arup Geotechnics and Atkins, ' said WSP Environmental UK managing director Brad Blundell.

WSP Environmental will have a team of more than 60 geotechnical specialists, engineers, engineering geologists and geologists.

They will provide a full range of geotechnical engineering services, backed up by highway, structural and infrastructure engineers and environmental consultants.

Services will include desk studies; design and supervision of ground investigation contracts; soils and water laboratory testing; analysis and interpretation of data; factual and interpretation reports with engineering design recommendations; and detailed engineering design. Supervision of earthworks and geotechnical processes will also be provided.
