WRIT LARGE

New Civil Engineer writers picked up two top accolades at this year's International Building Press awards. Senior reporter Andrew Mylius (above) won environment journalist of the year for his reports on nuclear decommissioning, water wars and proposals for the Venice barrage. The award was sponsored by Buro Happold.

David Hayward won the civil engineering journalist of the year prize for the second year running for his regular technical site reports including the Forth Road Bridge repainting and Copenhagen Metro construction. WS Atkins sponsored the award.
