Van Oord wins offshore wind farm deal

Offshore wind farm  2by3 Credits to Chris Laurens

Van Oord has been awarded the contract for construction of an offshore wind farm in Germany.

The company has signed a cooperation agreement with investor Highland Group Holdings for the development, financing and construction of the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm.

Van Oord’s work on the project will involve the engineering, procurement and construction of the foundations, inter array cables and the offshore substation.

The wind farm is located approximately 90km from shore in the German Bight and when complete it will have a rated power of 252MW.

The offshore installation is expected to start in the second half of 2018, with the offshore wind farm due to be commissioned in 2019.
