The Gallery | The world's 10 tallest new buildings of 2015

The tallest buildings in the world due for completion in 2015 will be mostly in China, the Middle East, and Russia, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

The authority runs a comprehensive database of information on tall buildings around the world.

In its definition criteria, the CTBUH does not specify a minimum height requirement for a building to be categorised as ‘tall’, but defines buildings over 300m as ‘super tall’, and buildings over 600m as ‘mega tall’.

The number of super tall buildings is predicted to double over the next 10 years, with number of mega tall buildings jumping from two to 10 by 2020.

This year alone, 22 new super tall buildings and one mega tall building are scheduled for completion.

They include the Vostok Tower in Moscow, which will be the tallest in Europe, and 432 Park Avenue, due to become the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
