The Gallery | Designs for phase 2 of Dubai Design District

Dubai Design District (d3) has revealed development plans for a creative community designed by Architect Foster + Partners.

Following the completion of phase 1 of its masterplan, Dubai Design District (d3) has revealed the new development will sit alongside the developed ‘core buildings’ and act as a thriving cultural epicentre at d3, inspiring emerging designers and artists, and attracting visitors to the area.

The creative community will be around 93,000m² within d3.

Inspiration was sought by visiting New York’s Meatpacking District and East London’s Shoreditch.

Foster + Partners’ winning design includes flexible office spaces, outdoor display venues, and public spaces. It will open in 2017.

d3 is located close to Mohammed Bin Rashid City and Dubai’s Business Bay. Close to the city’s arterial highways and two international airports, the district is near the Creek, Dubai’s historic centre, Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping complex.
