Kingdom Tower foundations complete

Foundations for the next contender for the tallest building in the world have been completed in Saudi Arabia.

Bauer has said that all 270 piles for the new 1,001m tall Kingdom Tower in Jeddah have been successfully completed and the site has now been handed over to main contractor Saudi Binladin Group.

The work involved using a fleet of Bauer BG rigs, including two modified BG 40 rigs configured with long kellys to install 72 110m long and 1.5m diameter piles, 154 1.5m diameter piles to depths of between 49 and 89m and another 44 piles with a diameter of 1.8m to 50m depths.
