Geoff French to head up international consulting federation

Former Scott Wilson chairman Geoff French has been announced as the new president of the international federation of consulting engineers FIDIC.

French took up his new two-year post at the recent FIDIC meeting in Davos, Switzerland and he will combine it with his responsibilities as chairman of the URS Scott Wilson pension scheme trustees.

As president of FIDIC, French will represent the global consulting engineering industry and will speak at conferences, meet with federation member countries and companies as well as multilateral development banks and government representatives.

He has already said that one of the aims of his presidency will be to promote conformance to business integrity. “All companies have to demonstrate that they have the systems in place to avoid corruption and I believe that the implementation of an internal integrity management system is essential for successful consulting firms,” explained French.
