Atkins to design Indonesia high speed rail

Jakarta bandung

Atkins is to create the design masterplan for a new high speed rail corridor between Jakarta-Bandung in Indonesia.

The 142.3 km route is being constructed by Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), a joint venture between PT Pilar Sinergi and China Railway Corporation and the project is set to be completed in 2019.

Atkins head of architecture in Asia Pacific Bertil de Kleynen said: “These transit oriented development projects will support Jakarta’s national vision for sustainable development hubs around key transport links and incorporate positive social, cultural, economic, and community benefits for residents and visitors to the region.”
