Arcadis aids probe on Brazil scheme

Sao Franciso River, Brazil

Engineering consultancy Arcadis is aiding an official investigation into a £4bn water management scheme in Brazil.

The firm said it was providing information as part of a broad government probe on the Sao Francisco scheme.

Arcadis has a programme management role on the project, which involves creation of 720km of channels to tackle water shortages in the north east of the country,

The company said in a statement: “Arcadis is fully cooperating with the federal authorities, who visited the Arcadis offices in Sao Paulo and the house of one of its project managers on Friday 11 December.

”Also, as part of its standard business compliance policy, Arcadis has initiated its own assessment.”
