Risk Management Software's Employment & Personnel desk control system is in line with the draft regulations for the EC working hours directive, due to come into force next month. The firm's system comes with access to a 24 hour legal helpline and is designed to help set up and exert control over records, monitor attendance, develop better contracts and recruit more effectively.

'Even when employees exercise their new right to opt out of the average working hours requirement, meticulous records must still be kept,' says Neal Richards of RMS. In recent years, he adds, unfair dismissal has become a sensitive subject.
