Work halted on ICE's 8 Storeys Gate refurb

The ICE has confirmed that work stopped on the 8 Storeys Gate development on Wednesday following the news that its contractor Killby and Gayford had gone into administration.

Killby and Gayford has ceased trading.

Work stopped on 8 Storey’s Gate on 18 April.

In a statement the ICE said was aware of this risk and that it has contingency plans in place. It said work has commenced to fully assess the impact of the situation and that its primary focus remains to get the project to completion as quickly as possible, without compromising quality and cost.

  • Politically, to do nothing is the safest management path.

    However, management has said "We have a contingency plan".
