Work begun on Katzenberg tunnel


Work has begun on the 9.4km long twin bore Katzenberg tunnel on the high speed line between Frankfurt and Basel in Germany.

Contractor joint venture of Ed Zublin, Wayss & Freytag, Marti Tunnelbau and Jager Bau is building the 9.4m diameter tunnels using two Herrenknecht earth pressure balance tunnel boring machines for client Deutsche Bahn.
