Wilkinson prepares for more housing

THE HOUSING division of groundwork and drainage contractor Wilkinson Special Projects has started on two contracts with a combined worth of £1.8M.

The firm is installing groundwork for a seven storey apartment block for Gleeson Homes at a site in Bolton, Lancashire. The £800,000 contract includes renovation of retaining walls and the erecting a steel portal frame and sheet piling to support a 3m deep basement car park.

The company has also won a £1M contract for Morris Homes to install roads, sewers and groundworks for a residential development in New Mills, Derbyshire.

Over the next two years, it will carry out bulk earthworks for the site including all groundworks to the split level residential properties. Work also includes permacrib retaining walls, off site sewer works and construction of a deep pumping station.
