Wight and wrong

With reference to The Wight stuff (NCE Water Supplement October 2001) I must correct your quote from the contract manager which implies the Isle of Wight has a blanket 30mph speed limit. While this may be true in the Channel Islands, many of the Isle of Wight's roads are subject to 60mph speed limits.

There are even a couple of miles of dual carriageway, locally known as 'the motorway' where dizzy speeds of 70mph are, I am told, possible.
