White Young Green wins Hull Docks rail project

Consultant White Young Green (WYG) was yesterday appointed by Network Rail to work on the £12M upgrade of the 9.7km branch line of Hull Docks.
The upgrade will include the re-modelling Hessle Road Junction onto the main Leeds to Hull line and the twin tracking of the railway to Springbank Road North Junction along with associated embankment stabilisation works.The scheme will also incorporate partial double tracking of the route, installation of a new double junction and re-signalling, in addition to strengthening in excess of 35 bridges along the route, including the HJS/22 River Hull Swing Bridge, a Grade listed structure.White Young Green director Paul Marshall said the design work would start immediately, with work due to start on site in September.
