What will the civil engineer's world look like in 2052?

As NCE prepares to celebrate its 40th birthday, we are looking 40 years ahead to 2052 and asking our readers to tell us what they think their world will look like.

We want to know what the big issues facing the profession will be. What will we as civil engineers be designing and building? Who will we be working for? Where will we be working? How will we be commuting to work, or will we not be commuting at all? What tools will we be using when we get there?

Help us shape an idea of what civil engineering in 2052 will look and feel like by taking part in our simple survey. Follow this link to take part or scroll down.

The results will be published as part of a special celebratory issue later this month which will be looking back over the highs and lows of the profession over the last 40 years and looking forward to the next 40.

  • This survey has now closed. Look out for the results in NCE’s special 40th anniversary issue to be published on 31 May.
