Generator Scottish & Southern Energy has scrapped plans for a wind farm because of fears that geese could be killed by turbines. The company wanted to build the 56 turbine, 116MW scheme at Broubster Leans, Caithness. But a two year bird study showed that the site would be under the flight route of migrating Greenland whitefronted geese.
