News stand

Britain's biggest bus company, First Group, launched its new 'Streetcar' bus last week. Costing £300,000, the vehicle is designed to run on segregated road space but does not require track or overhead wires. First Group hopes the buses, disguised as trams, will persuade one in 10 car users to switch to the Streetcars, which are due to start running in York by the end of the year.
