Japanese developer Mori Building is planning to re-start work on the 94 storey, 460m tall Shanghai World Financial Center after site preparation was halted at the height of the Asian economic crisis in 1997.

Hong Kong is building new 88 floor and 102 floor skyscrapers, and Taiwan is also pressing ahead with construction of two 100 storey towers.
