Eurostar could introduce double decker 'Duplex' trains in a drive to cut the amount it pays to Eurotunnel in Channel Tunnel access charges. The new trains would double passenger capacity to 1,000. St Pancras is current favourite to be Eurostar's new hub once the second phase of the high speed link opens in 2007.

A decision is expected later this year.
