New trade and industry secretary Alan Johnson has told the Financial Times the government will examine its policy on nuclear energy 'some time this year'.

Johnson added that the energy market had 'moved significantly' since the Energy White Paper in 2003, which said little about nuclear power.

The number of workers being trained as carpenters, bricklayers and plumbers has dropped by over 50% since the 1970s, according to a report by the Adult Learning Inspectorate.
