A deal worth £150M for UK businesses to design and build airports in China was due to be signed on Tuesday by trade and industry secretary Alan Johnson.

Companies are to be barred from bidding for lucrative public sector contracts if one of their directors has previously been convicted of a white-collar crime, under new European public procurement legislation.
