What's On will revert to its original format next week.

Monday 10 May London A Tale of Two Towers - Big Ben and Pisa ICE vice president and Imperial College professor John Burland will give a presentation on the foundation problems associated with Pisa's and London's famous towers. The talk on the leaning tower of Pisa will focus on remediation work carried out to stabilise it. This will contrast with the problems faced by engineers building new foundations close to underground tunnels and near Big Ben.

This is a joint meeting with the Surrey branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Department of Trade & Industry renewable energy advisor David Still will deliver the keynote address. This will centre on the 2003 Energy Bill and government policy.

Other speakers include Renewable Energy Systems' Danny Bonnett and Marine Current Turbines' Peter Fraenkel.

Saturday 15 May Midlands Operation Teambuild 2004 This management training day is designed to help engineers improve their leadership, team building, communication, presentation and delegating skills.

The day will involve a variety of tasks and assault course activities.
