West Coast mainline


Non-functioning hydraulic brakes have been blamed for the flatbed trailer accident on the West Coast mainline last week, which killed four people (News last week). But Network Rail said that it will allow the trailers to be brought back in to service across the network following stringent safety checks. It believes that the faulty brakes on the trailer were an isolated case.
