WEEKEND BOOKING: Mowlem has replaced two ageing Scottish rail bridges as part of ongoing regeneration of Railtrack's West Coast Main Line (WCML) structures. At Dalmakethar Farm near Lockerbie the masonry arch was replaced with an 800t reinforced concrete box bridge during a 54-hour weekend possession which had been booked two years in advance. The following weekend the traditionally built Elvanwater Bridge in Elvanfoot was switched for a single span composite bridge deck.
