Join us today for a webinar on driving collaboration in highways

motorway at night

Register now for New Civil Engineer’s webinar, Driving collaboration in highways, in association with Tensar. It will stream live at 14:30 GMT today (Wednesday 16 November).

This will be a masterclass on collaboration, featuring a case study on the M3 and Tensar’s smart asphalt reinforcement solution, and how to deliver real innovation in the risk-averse highways sector.

The challenge of working collaboratively in the UK highways sector is well known. But it is possible and this free webinar will explain how to make it happen, using the installation of the smart running lanes on the M3 as a prime example.

As the UK’s roads become increasingly congested, Highways England’s smart motorway programme continues to increase capacity. The M3 has more than 130,000 vehicles travelling between Junctions 2 and 4a every day, and the hard shoulders were converted to “smart” running lanes.

Tensar worked collaboratively with Highways England, Tarmac and Balfour Beatty to deliver the project, and with a new product – smart asphalt reinforcement.

Watch this webinar to learn:

  • What steps were taken to ensure collaboration between all the parties
  • How the project team collectively dealt with any issues
  • How “joined-up thinking” between Balfour Beatty, Tarmac and Tensar resulted in the use of innovative highways solutions
  • What lessons have been learned and taken on to the next project.

With a real life case study and the chance to ask questions live throughout the event, this will be a fantastic opportunity to understand how collaboration can work in UK highways with a view to delivering better outcomes.
