We demand a vote Mr Casebourne!

I refer to Mike Casebourne's letter (NCE last week) and your headline 'Full steam ahead.'

Are we setting forth on the Titanic or the ICE ship 'Bums on seats'. Bums on seats does seem to be the hidden agenda.

Mike Casebourne and the current Council should collectively be thoroughly ashamed of themselves; they are behaving like despots! I agree fully with the views expressed by Roger Sainsbury in his recent letter and with those expressed by David Bannister and Neil S Ferguson.

Let us hear more from the 'silent' majority.

Last week Mike Casebourne told us he was leading from the front! Frankly I do not want to be led anywhere by Mike Casebourne (that is not his job! ) and I deplore the fact that he and this Council seek to deny us the vote by hiding behind the words of a constitution that did not envisage this sort of profound change.

He and Council have decided what is best for the corporate membership whether we like it or not. Well I don't like it!

Give us the vote Mr Casebourne! !

James P McCafferty (F), past chairman, Glasgow & West of Scotland Association, 6 Park Circus, Glasgow G3 6AX.
