Wastewater treatment works still out of action

The US Environmental Protection Agency said 902 wastewater treatment works were still out of action across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama as NCEI went to press. This compares to the 1,223 which were out of action after Hurricane Katrina first struck. All clean water treatment works are back in action in Alabama but 114 are still out in Louisiana and nine are still not working in Mississippi.
