VT's Chubb joins Grontmij as MD

Grontmij has appointed John Chubb from one time Mouchel suitor VT Group as its new managing director for the UK and Ireland.

Chubb will join the company on 1 October. Former UK and Ireland MD Lawrence Hughes will retain his role as chairman of the UK and Ireland board.

He will also take up full time the international group director role running the water and energy stream of the business worldwide that he was appointed to in January (NCE 12 January). The rest of the senior management team remains unchanged.

Chubb, 45, has held senior positions across the environment, nuclear and communications sectors at VT. Most recently, he was managing director of the environment division, leading the integration of the waste to energy and nuclear businesses.

Prior to this, he led the successful integration of the former BNG Project Services business into VT Nuclear Services.

“John’s appointment signals a new era in Grontmij’s development,” said chief executive officer Sylvo Thijsen. “As market conditions stabilise in the UK, we are again in a position where we are looking to grow in the coming years, especially with our significant framework wins in the water industry.”
