Voice of reason

Last week's BBC dramadocumentary on energy supply in the UK could not have happened without the willingness of David Anderson, ICE's energy board chairman, to lend his expertise - and time - to the BBC.

But in terms of impact it was time well spent and we are very grateful for his efforts.

The communications policy of majoring on a few themes that capture the public imagination is bearing fruit.

But to develop our outreach further we need more David Andersons.

I invite any member with broad knowledge in his or her specialist field, combined with an ability to communicate effectively to non-specialists, to come forward and become the voice of ICE in the media and government.

You do not have to be operating at a senior level in your organisation. What is more important is your commitment to the role.

If you believe you can do it, please email anne. moir@ice. org. uk outlining how you could assist.
