Vinci form consortium to bid for M25 widening

Vinci has formed a massive consortium to bid for the £4.5bn privately financed M25 widening concession.

Other members are Laing Roads, Costain, Carillion, Mouchel Parkman, Jacobs Babtie and Autoroutes du Sud de la France. Balfour Beatty has formed a rival consortium with Skanska.

Alfred McAlpine has decided against bidding despite receiving approaches from several potential partners.
