Video | Drone's view of completed Crossrail tunnels

Crossrail has released this drone footage of the completed tunnels for the £14.8bn railway.

Crossrail tunnelling began in the summer of 2012 and ended at Farringdon last week with the breakthrough of tunnel boring machine Victoria.

Eight 1,000t tunnelling machines have bored 42km of 6.2m-diameter rail tunnels under London. Another 13.5km of new passenger, platform and service tunnels have been constructed within the new Crossrail stations using sprayed concrete lining.

Construction is also advancing on the 10 new Crossrail stations and on works above ground west of Paddington and east of Stratford
