US websites speculate over future of consultant KBR

Business websites in the US have mounted speculation over the future of consultant KBR. Reports suggest the Halliburton-owned business could be up for sale. The subsidiary, one of the UK's largest engineering consultants, has been embroiled in a $8bn asbestos claim and controversy over contracts in Iraq. Halliburton has undertaken a restructuring of the operation but a spokeswoman said: 'There has been no decision made regarding KBR's future. Once the asbestos situation is resolved, we will look at our entire business portfolio.'
