URS drops Scott Wilson brand for UK, Europe and Middle East operations

URS has announced that the Scott Wilson name has been dropped for its UK & Ireland, Europe and the Middle East operations as part of a global programme to have a single and consistent brand.

Since the acquisition of Scott Wilson in September 2010, the former Scott Wilson business and URS’s operations in the UK & Ireland, Europe and the Middle East have been trading under the name URS Scott Wilson. Now, the Scott Wilson logo will be removed and the company will trade and be branded as URS. In some regions, such as India and China, the brand’s transition will be phased in recognition of current brand exposure in each area.

The acquisition of Scott Wilson expanded URS’s international operations. The company now has around 48,000 employees and a network of offices in more than 40 countries. It also expanded the company’s portfolio of professional services.

The combined business has recently won some key projects, including the Emirates Air Line and the Forth Replacement Crossing in the UK and the Stockholm bypass in Sweden.
