A one year full-time or two year part-time modular course. Syllabus includes siteinvestigation, rock and soil mechanics, concrete and cement, aggregates, rock inconstruction, research, business methods, remote sensing and groundwater. Threefield trips led by Professor Peter Fookes and sessions from visiting lecturers fromindustry. Major project follows the taught course, many offered in collaboration withindustry. Entry is normally via second class honours degree in geology, civil engineering or related disciplines. NERC advanced studentship and industrially supported course.
A modular course studied full time, part time or by distance remediation from social and land value concerns to regulatory and learning, covering issues in policy issues plus science and technological developments. Taught by active researchers in the Centre for Contaminated Land Remediation, international academics and industry professionals from WS Atkins, Halcrow Group, Kvaerner Technology, the BCA and BLA.
