UMIST careers fair

Students from Manchester, Salford and Manchester Metropolitan universities, as well as those from UMIST, will attend this year's UMIST Civil Engineering Society's annual careers fair. They will range from first year students looking for vacation work to those in their final year seeking graduate positions. Last year's event attracted 15 companies, including Babtie, Birse and Costain. 'They all reported back saying that it was a very worthwhile event, ' says final year student and CivSoc chair Nicola Cohen. Open to students in electrical, mechanical, building and environmental engineering, as well as civil engineering and quantity surveying, the fair will take place on 6 December.
