UK's worst environmental polluters

Water and sewage firms are the UK's worst environmental polluters, closely followed by waste management, construction and demolition firms. Thames Water tops the Environment Agency's list of the 30 dirtiest firms - Spotlight on business environmental performance - with fines of £79,000. Other water utilities include Anglian, Southern, Welsh Water, Northumbrian, North West and South West Water. Four construction firms including contractor Ainscough are named.
