Equipment hire company Speedy has announced an awards scheme to encourage suppliers and manufacturers to develop environmentally friendly products
Two awards will be presented.
One will be for an existing product and another for a product that is at prototype, idea or concept stage.
The winner of the second award will win £2,000 to help develop the product and bring it to market.
A shortlist of the best entries will be selected by senior Speedy executives, and the winners will then be decided by a panel including a representative from environmental consultant ERM.
“This award is intended to encourage innovation in the development of products that reduce cost and cut carbon emissions and overall environmental impact,” said Speedy supply chain director Andy Connor.
“The judges will be interested in ideas that reduce energy or fuel consumption, waste, water consumption or pollution.
The awards are open to all Speedy suppliers, and the deadline for entries is 30 March.
