Turner & Townsend to lead Houston airport redevelopment

Turner & Townsend has won the contract to lead the eight-year redevelopment of the terminals at Houston’s main airport.

The consultancy has been commissioned by the City of Houston to work on Houston Airport System’s IAH Terminal Redevelopment Programme (ITRP). The work will be carried out at the city’s main commercial airport, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The company will lead and manage the design, procurement and execution of the programme.

Houston Aviation director Mario Diaz said: “Houston is building a solid reputation as a global gateway city and because of this enhanced standing, the ITRP programme may very well be the most significant expansion project ever undertaken by the Houston Airport System.”

Turner & Townsend vice president and US head of aviation Tina Millan said it planned to deploy its international aviation experts to work on the project.
