Tunnelling regeneration reliability improved

tunnel boring machines (TBMs) from Herrenknecht as a cost effective solution to equipment investment on smaller diameter tunnelling schemes will now receive a higher level of assurance on reliability. Herrenknecht is offering an approval certificate for AVN TBMs that have undergone its checking and restoration process to restore the equipment to the original functional state.

“A nine-month warranty guarantees the full functionality of every Herrenknecht used machine with the approved quality seal, so that our customers can realise their upcoming projects reliably and safely,” said Herrenknecht utility tunnelling business unit chairman of the executive board Ulrich Schaffhauser.

Quality testing undertaken during the approval process includes testing of the wear protection, hydraulic systems, water systems, drive system and all electrical equipment. The approved machine is delivered with all the technical documentation that was supplied when the TBM was originally purchased.
