Trumpet blower

Letters

I refer to your article on highway term maintenance in which you suggest that Edmund Nuttall is a new entrant to the routine trunk road maintenance business (NCE 27 September).

In fact, Nuttall operated on the first three privatised motorway maintenance contracts in Manchester in 1986. Further contracts were completed in Cheshire and Manchester, and in the early 1990s we completed a four year package for Staffordshire County Council.

Nuttall is also the incumbent on the Highways Agency Area 17 term maintenance contract and is actively bidding for tranche 2 MACs.

Trevor Walker, director business development, Edmond Nuttall, St James House, Camberley, Surrey, GU15 3XW
