Tramlink Croydon came to life last Wednesday with the first test run. The tram was taken round the central loop of the track twice to allow the Railway Inspectorate to check the operation of the £200M system and the safety of the public in its vicinity. According to Jim Snowden, technical manager for the TTL consortium, there were no major glitches.
