Triumph of polyester

MORE THAN 7,200m2 of geotextile grid was laid in less than a week at Costessey Landfill near Norwich as part of its extension.

Because some slopes adjoined an alreadyworked cell, the project had to conform to the EU Landfill Directive.

Naue Geosynthetic supplied its biaxial Secugrid 20/20 Q1 on the prepared subgrade of the 60m long cell slopes. The grid, made of solid extruded polyester, was installed by excavator and spreader bar to reinforce the 1:2.5 slope.

Naue also supplied 24,000m2 of Bentofix NSP4000-1 geosynthetic clay liner for the landfill as the secondary lining system.
