Transport Research Laboratory

TRL will be demonstrating the latest research and technical advances in ground engineering at the show, including significant contribution to improving the understanding of the performance of geotextiles, geogrids and soil nailing achieved through product testing and installation trials. The organisation's expertise in instrumentation, assessment and prediction of the performance of retaining walls, tunnels, culverts and drainage before, during and after construction helps civil engineers to provide better roads and railways at lower cost. Prediction and monitoring of construction vibration and tunnelling induced settlement has minimised the risk of damage to sensitive structures. TRL also has specialist knowledge of rock excavation, design of rock slopes, risk analysis, precision and fragmentation blasting and treatment of instability. Stand 9381
