Transport Committee Annual Report released

A report detailing the work of the Transport Select Committee throughout 2007 was released by Parliament last Friday.

The document summarises the work undertaken by the committee, which is responsible for scrutiny of public policy proposals as well as existing legislation regarding transport.

Reports produced by the Transport Committee last year include a report on The Ports Industry in England and Wales, Passengers Experiences of Air Travel, as well as scrutiny the draft Local Transport Bill.

The Department will publish a report at the end of January which will conclude whether the Department for Transport has adequately carried out its duties under the public service agreement.

The "work of the committee in 2007" can be downloaded from the Parliament website.
