Trans-Texas corridor project

A series of 44 public meetings were being held in November into the future of the giant trans-Texas corridor project, a 1,300km long road, rail and utilities axis through the state from Oklahoma to the Gulf of Mexico's southern coast.

The meetings complement other environmental studies and will help determine whether the project will go ahead after 2006.
