UK construction expertise is behind the 32-storey Opus tower block at Business Bay, Dubai.

Originally designed by Zaha Hadid, consultant Whitbybird has carried out the building's structural design. Constructed of three separate towers, the building will appear to hover above the ground and the interiors of each tower will be clad with a curved glass curtain wall to allow unique views into the central void. Pixilated striations will be applied onto the glass facade to provide a degree of reectivity to the cube and assist in the reduction of solar gains inside the building.

Other UK firms on the project include Gleeds, who is project manager, SAFE who is carrying out the fire engineering and Roger Preston Dynamics who is advising on the lifts.
