Top Tory to outline high speed rail vision to ICE West Midlands

Shadow transport secretary Theresa Villiers is to outline her party’s vision for high speed rail at ICE West Midlands’ Fast Track to the West Midlands event next month.

The Conservative party’s commitment to high speed rail, announced during its annual conference in Birmingham last year, has sparked debate within government and among engineering and transportation professionals alike.

Ambassador for Birmingham and former ICE President Colin Clinton said: "The debate for high speed rail is crucial for the West Midlands economy. "This event will provide a valuable opportunity for business and our profession to influence the outcome of future discussions regarding high speed rail."

The event, which is sponsored by Arup, will take place on 26 February at Arup Midlands Campus in Solihull. Anyone wishing to attend can contact the ICE West Midlands office to reserve their place.
